Involuntary Memory: The expression Involuntary memory, not totally unconnected with Henri Bergson's associated principles of sensation and perception, refers to a specific conception of human memory in which chance events evoke reminiscences of the past in a spontaneous way. Usually associated with Proust's philosophy, these memories result from the blending of two distinct and detached time situations, through the use of the senses.
